Enjoyable Outdoor Living Year-Round

Outdoor Lighting

Give your house outside area additional lighting for enjoyment at any time of the day. Most of the time, when we think about our home, we think about enjoying it only on the inside. What we might want to think about is how lovely our backyards are with some strategic lighting.

Sconces

One way I suggest adding lighting such as sconces to the actual physical structure of your home.  These sconces can come in numerous shapes and sizes that can fit along any exterior wall of your home.  You can find various sconces from such places as Lowe's, Home Depot,  Amazon, or other online retailers. When adding sconces to your house, you will most likely require help from an electrician.  To find a qualified electrician in your area, consider contacting your local Realtor or using HomeAdvisor, Yelp, or Google search. The Realtor has first-hand awareness with most service providers and typically provides a list at no cost.  The service will allow you to read the reviews left by others who used their services but may have a fee to acquire this information.

Another option is to add lighting to plant areas such as bushes or trees throughout your yard. Adding light to these locations also provides you with additional security and gives your home different lighting to enjoy during the evening or night. Yard spotlights come in various types that include solar, extension cord plug-in, and underground electrical wiring. The solar spotlights or plug-in are easy do-it-yourself activities that can be done by you anytime. You can find spotlights for your home almost anywhere, making them a favorite to use for many homeowners. When using underground wiring spotlights, there is a versatile selection ranging above ground to flush to the ground. You can interchange either above-ground or flush spotlights throughout your home's exterior to meet your decorative needs.

Outdoor Flood Lighting

Another option is to add floodlights to your yard and the roofline of your home. Floodlights are brighter and provide a more extended range of light around the house. Floodlights nowadays come in various options that range from being powered by solar plug-in or require electrical wiring from an electrician. Also, with floodlights, you have the opportunity to adjust their direction anywhere you want more lighting.

String Lighting

For softer lighting that offers adjustable usage, consider string lights; today, there is more option than just Christmas lights for outdoor lighting.  These plug-in lighting solutions are perfect for decks, gazebos, pergolas, or inside screened porches.  The type of outdoor string lighting is endless from led to Edison with colors of soft white to colors, making them great for themed get-togethers.

A benefit of any year-round outdoor lighting allows you to not only enjoy your yard throughout the year but also have the option to change the mood of your outdoor space.  Share with me on Instagram your outdoor lighting by tagging @AgentCate33; I love seeing all the creative styles in our community.
