Getting Social After Work

Revitalize Yourself After Work

Getting Social After Work

Now that life is getting back to normal, as more of us get vaccinated, we are all starting to feel the effects of not being able to socialize with each other. Between this and feeling bogged down by work after an exhausting eight-hour day, it's now time to think about being social again.  Being social allows you to recharge yourself by making social connections when interacting with one another.  Hopefully, in the next few weeks, we all will be able to enjoy socializing again after work and make those connections with people in our community.

Join Local Leagues

Local Leagues

Maybe you are interested in being a little more active in your social activities after work. You can find local leagues ranging from bowling, softball, kickball, bocce ball, and more throughout the area.  These leagues allow you to meet other people in your area interested in the same activities you are. You can get physical while getting to know other people without worrying about striking up a conversation because the game itself will generate natural conversations with the players.

Restaurants, Bars, and Lounges

The most common way that many of us get social after work is by meeting other people, including colleagues, at local area bars and lounges. These are great ways to relax and give people an opportunity to communicate about current events. At bars and lounges, the atmosphere is relaxed and not informal, which is a great way to get you comfortable and ready to make a new friend. Granted, being at a bought lounge does require you to be a bit more of an extrovert and communicating with others.

Musuems

So for some of us, we may not be as chatty or extroverted as others.  While bars and lounges include many people, it could not be easy to talk because of loud music and many people talking. Another alternative is to venture into local museums and art galleries. These places are excellent for striking up a conversation with someone viewing the same piece of art like you. Here you can share your opinions gather others' perspectives of the artwork on display. Not only does it make it easy for you to speak, but it is a place where you can meet other like-minded individuals who share your passion for art.

Parks

Today, the virus's existence makes community parks the best way to connect with locals and others in the neighborhood.  Metro Atlanta's weather from spring to fall is best for having an enjoyable time playing bocce or disc golf while making new friends and escaping the workday.

To help build a stronger community, join me at some of my neighborhood events, get to know others in the area, and support local businesses.
